DetailBased on the Collosus N9, Polygon’s impressive new Enduro bike, the electrified Collosus N8E, combines gravity orientated geometry with a high-quality Shimano motor and battery combo and legendary FOX suspension. By adding top-spec Shimano eBike components to its big-hitting Collosus bike, Polygon has built a bike that is bound to put a very big smile on your face! The bike itself is a monster - Upfront there’s a chunky FOX 38 Float Performance Elite fork with 160mm of travel at a 63.5-degree head angle to suck-up the lumps and bumps. The bike’s rear suspension is a sophisticated 6-bar linkage arrangement which makes the most of the FOX FLOAT X2’s suppleness and progressive feel. With Shimano’s EP8 motor and a large capacity 630Wh battery on board, you’ll find riding uphill a blast too. The electric motor delivers 85Nm of torque which should drag you up any incline and extend your range to squeeze many more kilometres into your rides. The motor itself is restricted to 15.5mph (25kmh) and delivers the power to the wheels through a smooth Shimano SLX drivetrain. Without good brakes and tyres this bike would be a runaway train. Fortunately, Polygon agrees. The N8E has Shimano XT M8120 brakes with 4 piston calipers, which provide plenty of stopping power. Schwalbe Magic Marys with the Addix soft compound are an aggressive tyre choice that deliver plenty of grip on all trail surfaces. The Collosus N8E is a serious bike that’s armed to the teeth with premium components. With an ebike this capable you’re ready to take-on the steepest and longest trails of your life. Read our ebike buyer’s guide for advice on motors, batteries and other componentry.
